I am a psychologist with over 15 years experience of helping individuals and groups enhance their lives.
I have a strong philosophical perspective that life has ups and downs and that there are ways to help ourselves experience and enjoy the ups more and reduce the amount and impact of the downs.
I like to work with people to help them acknowledge their strengths (even if they don’t believe they have any) and then explore how they can expand them. My work in high performance sport allows me to share some of the ways in which people manage their emotions and thoughts at critical moments.
If I’m doing well, a consultation with me should leave you feeling like you were listened to, that you were understood and that there is a way to a better experience of life. I won’t guarantee that the way is easy or always enjoyable as dealing with strong and unpleasant emotions can be painful. So, if you’re ready to acknowledge some of those difficulties in life then I will be sensitive and respectful in return for the trust you place in me in sharing your experience.
I believe I can assist people to make changes in their life such as those who are experiencing stress, who are having difficulty managing emotions such as anxiety, depression and anger, and who are going through transitions such as retirement, redundancy, separation or bereavement. I am also interested in working with people who have exercise and health related challenges such as weight loss and dealing with medical conditions.
I have spent considerable time working with high performers, so I welcome clients who are looking to improve their performance or are struggling with performance related stress such as high school and university students, doctors needing to pass college exams, workplace managers and leaders, athletes and artists.
I am registered as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
